After a period of doing projects involving a lot of different materials i was looking for ways of focusing more on content. I had two alternatives; the first one was to build mud-houses in Mali, Africa, the other was the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.
The Hotel is a 6000m2 structure built from snow and ice. Technically it functions very much like an igloo and maintains a relatively constant indoors temperature of -3 to -5°C even with outside temperatures of down to -35°C.
The hotel melts every spring and is rebuilt the following autumn.
